Jonathan Stefan Priscan, 24, will face court again after allegedly biting a woman’s nipple

A 24-year-old man has appeared in court for allegedly biting his friend’s mother’s nipple, after he let himself into her home through the laundry door.

Surge in sexual assault reporting as public discussion around rape increases

A 24-year-old will remain in custody for another week after handing himself over to police earlier for allegedly assaulting his friend’s mother.

Appearing via video link in Christies Beach Magistrate, Jonathan Priscan sat in handcuffs as the court heard police allege he bit his friend’s mother twice on the nipple after letting himself into her house.

Police Prosecutor Brendan Gottschutzke told the court Priscan and the complainant had known each other for some time.

“At 4pm on March 18, she (the complainant) received a letter from Priscan asking to meet which she ignored and had no intention of meeting him,” he said.

Mr Gottschutzke told the court the complainant was in her living room later that night when she heard the defendant calling out her name asking her to let him in.

“She said no before the defendant let himself in through the laundry door,” Mr Gottschutzke continued.

“She asked him to leave on a number of occasions, he didn’t, causing her to feel scared and intimidated.”

The pair allegedly then sat out the back, where Priscan began asking his friend’s mother for a hug to which she continued to decline.

He then allegedly sat on top of her, grabbing her around the arm, torso and then breasts before leaning forward and biting her on the left nipple.

This shocked her and she whacked him in the face.

The complainant then punched Priscan in the stomach, trying to get him off before he allegedly lunged at her, biting her nipple for a second time, causing bruising through her top and bra.

“He was going to stay the night in her bed and that is how it was going to end,” Mr Gottschutzke told the court.

“She states the only way she got him to leave was by unlocking her phone allowing him to unblock himself before he leaves around midnight.”

Priscan was charged with serious criminal trespass, three counts of indecent assault and basic assault.

A home detention report was ordered by Magistrate Lynette Duncan in order for Priscan to reside with his mother.

Priscan will face court again in June.
