A man allegedly told a woman he should kill her after stomping on her head in a CBD McDonalds late at night, a court has heard.
Jay Farrow, 40, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link from custody where a court heard “he has a tendency to attack random members of the public”.
“He stomped on her head and allegedly said ‘I should just kill you because I’m going to prison for this’,” Magistrate Karim Soetratma said while explaining the alleged assault.
Mr Farrow was arrested on Wednesday evening and charged with assault over the alleged attack at McDonald’s on West Tce on April 24.
The woman reported the incident to police but Mr Farrow had left the scene before they arrived. He was arrested on Wednesday night after police examined CCTV.
A prosecutor also told the court Mr Farrow, of West Croydon, was on bail for another assault at the time of the offending and has a history of attacking members of the public.
“He has a tendency to attack random members of the public,” he said.
Defence counsel, for Mr Farrow, applied for “strict” bail on behalf of her client saying he works as a carpenter and has a partner and step child.
She also said it was of her understanding that despite the assault being caught on CCTV, there was no audio capturing what was said by her client.
She also said the victim suffered minor injuries.
Prosecution opposed the application.
Mr Soetratma denied the application for bail and remanded Mr Farrow in custody until next week.
