A Covid-breacher accused of taking part in the violent hammer-wielding robbery of a takeaway restaurant has plea-bargained her case down to a minor trespassing offence.

On Wednesday, prosecutors told the Adelaide’s Magistrates Court they would no longer pursue Isabell Grant over the armed robbery of the Yummy Box restaurant at Park Holme last October.

Instead, they charged her with being unlawfully on the restaurant’s premises – a minor offence to which she immediately plead guilty.

Grant, 20 of Keswick, was charged with aggravated offences of assault, serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force over an incident in October last year.

Prosecutors alleged she was one of three people who robbed the Yummy Box restaurant at Park Holme – a crime that was captured on CCTV.

A month later, Grant was sentenced to nine days’ jail for breaching the state’s Covid-19 regulations.

Grant’s alleged co-accused in the robbery – during which a staff member was struck with a hammer – have already pleaded guilty.

On Wednesday, counsel for Grant asked she be released from her bail obligations given the reduction in severity of the case against her.

Magistrate Simon Smart rejected that request and remanded Grant on continuing bail to face sentencing submissions next month.
