House fire leads to drug grow house discovery at residential address in Croydon

Fireys made a surprising find when they were called to a blaze at an attractive Californian bungalow in Adelaide’s inner suburbs on Tuesday night.

Firefighters were surprised to find a cannabis grow house after they were called to a fire on Tuesday night.

Police and emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a Californian bungalow on Scotia St, Croydon, just after 12.10am on Wednesday,

When firefighters entered the property they allegedly located cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment.

The fire was contained to the roof space, causing minor damage to the structure, and police reported the home was vacant and that no one was injured.

Images from the scene reveal a burnout van had been loaded on a trailer as police prepared to remove the car.


It is unknown what the link is – if any – between the van and the house fire.
