Hells Angels bikie Terry Ian Polley arrested after allegedly breaking association laws

A longstanding Hells Angels bikie will face court after an alleged group ride through Adelaide.

A longstanding Hells Angels bikie has been charged with breaking South Australia’s strict anti-association laws.

Terry Ian Polley, 62, was on Friday charged with being present with two or more other participants of a criminal organisation during an alleged ride with a dozen other Hells Angels members, prospects or associates on January 2.

Polley was allegedly part of a group that rode from Cherry Gardens through Adelaide before parting ways at Pasadena.

Police will allege all 13 men present on the ride are either fully-patched Hells Angels members, prospects or associates of the gang.

Several other men aged in their 60s were also arrested and charged during searches of 16 houses across Adelaide.

South Australian law prohibits three or more participants of a declared criminal organisation to be present in a public place, with a maximum penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment for those convicted.

Polley and the other 12 men charged over the January 2 run were bailed to face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on April 9.

Acting Crime Gangs Task Force officer-in-charge Detective Inspector Fraser Huntley said association laws were in place to “ensure public safety”.

“Where gatherings of OMCGs (outlaw motorcycle gangs) are identified, the South Australia police will investigate activities and take action to ensure the safety of the public,” he said.
