The family of suspected murdered toddler Ronan Davies, has paid an emotional tribute to their “angel” and revealed the boy’s organs have been donated to other families.

Major Crime detectives have launched a murder inquiry after the 17-month old boy, who was also known as “Ro”, was found unconscious and in a critical condition earlier this month.

He was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital at 6pm on Wednesday, June 7, after suffering head and other injuries but, despite, desperate efforts he died two days later.

His mother’s social media profiles are littered with photographs and posts of her boy, including one in January as she wished “my angel” a happy birthday.

In a social media post shortly after the boy’s death, his Vietnam-based grandmother Ngoc Cam Huynh told of her heartache as she wrote how she “Miss & love you forever”.

“Grandma’s angel rest in peace, even though the time you stayed with your family was not long,” she wrote on June 10.

“Everyone loved you so much, you were cute, well behaved, innocent & very handsome, now how to remember less suffering, my son,

“Now from sleeping, eating or going anywhere, I see your shadow, why did God take away grandma’s Ro, my son …”

She added: “The mission of my life came to this world. He was only 17-months-old when he left. He donated his organs to save three children who were near death to live. So Ro’s departure is meaningful. Your shadow & life still exist in the body of three lucky little ones.”

She urged people to sympathise with her plight and that she would not be able to reply to all the messages of sympathy.

Ronan’s death has been declared a Major Crime as authorities investigate how and why he was assaulted.

Police said his family was not known to child protection authorities.

Major Crime Detective Inspector Mark McEachern said police believed Ronan’s injuries were caused by an assault which occurred sometime on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 7.

Det Insp McEachern said Ronan was being cared for by friends known to his parents in the two days prior to the alleged assault at an address on Ferguson St in Glenelg North in the two days prior to the alleged assault.

The boy was returned to his father’s house at Ottoway, in Adelaide’s northwest, shortly before he was admitted to the Women’s and Children’s hospital.
