A teenager who is accused of stabbing an innocent tourist in a group attack has had her lawyer apologise for her explosive language in court.

Tiser Explains: How a criminal trial works

A woman who is accused of launching a horrifying stabbing attack upon a tourist in the CBD has told a magistrate she’s “not guilty for the last f***ing time”.

Jasmain Rose Phillips, 19, Bradley Grogan, 25, Nicholas Tsardanis, 18, and Jesse James Humphreys, 20, faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday and ended with a lawyer apologising for her client’s colourful language.

When Magistrate John Wells told the accused he would be reading the charges to them, Ms Phillips replied “Oh my f***ing God”.

Ms Phillips and Mr Grogan pleaded not guilty to causing harm with intent, while all four accused pleaded not guilty to attempted robbery and theft.

When Mr Wells asked Ms Phillips how she pleaded to the last charge of theft, clearly frustrated she replied “not guilty for the last f***ing time”.

Just before 2am on Thursday, December 28, a 37-year-old man was retrieving a drone charger from his car on Franklin St when he was approached by a group of four people.

SA Police said the four opened his car doors, threatened him and demanded money.

The court heard the tourist said while he was in his car, three men and a woman demanded money from him, attacking him while he hid inside his car.

The victim was assisted by a member of the public, who called the police.

The young man sustained several injuries during the struggle, including two stab wounds and several cuts across his hands, arms and legs.

He was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-serious injuries.

The young man was travelling through Adelaide from Sydney with his girlfriend, with the couple planning to fly to Uluru.

During Ms Phillip’s unsuccessful home detention bail application in January the court heard she was five weeks pregnant.

It is unknown whether she is still pregnant.

All of the group besides Mr Tsardanis who was deemed as a “secondary offender” remain in custody.

On Tuesday, Mr Wells committed the group for arraignment in the District Court in October.

“Jesse, write back,” Ms Phillips yelled before the video link could be disconnected.

“You’re a sl** Jasmain,” one of the men replied, before Ms Phillips could be heard saying:

“F*** you Brad, I love you ya dog”.

Madaline Anderson, for Ms Phillips, apologised to Mr Wells, while laughter erupted around the courtroom.
