A loud noise dispute turned violent in the early hours of Thursday morning after a man was stabbed and a mother was held at knifepoint during a terrifying home invasion at Pooraka.
Police were called to a unit block on South Terrace at about 1.30am after the woman managed to call triple-0.
The victims, a 25-year-old man from Alberton and a 24-year-old woman who did not wish to be named, told 7 NEWS Adelaide they were targeted after asking their neighbours to turn down their music.
Shortly afterwards, four men including a teenage boy allegedly forced entry into their home brandishing knives.
The suspects allegedly stabbed the man in the shoulder, while the mother said she blocked the door to her two-year-old son’s room, using her body as a human shield.
“I just knew if I stood on this side of the door, hopefully they wouldn’t go in there and touch him,” she said.
The suspected perpetrators allegedly smashed windows in the unit and stole items before fleeing the home.
The stabbing victim told 7 NEWS Adelaide that the knife-wielding attackers overwhelmed him.
“I couldn’t do anything,” the man said.
“And then obviously I was stunned, but you know, I couldn’t even help myself, I was defenceless.
“Who would even go through another person’s house that has women and children there.”

The mother said she still doesn’t feel safe in her home and will not spend the night there.
Police patrols found the alleged suspects in a nearby unit with the stolen items still in their possession.
They arrested a man, 34, and a boy, 16, both of Munno Para West, a 25-year-old man from Pooraka, and a 26-year-old man from Gawler South.
The occupants were taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment with non life-threatening injuries.
All were charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, committing theft using force and aggravated property damage.
The teenager will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court today, while the three men – who did not seek police bail – will appear at the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
Police believe the suspects are known to each other and that the break-in was not random.
