An alleged member of the Finks Motorcycle Gang has been refused bail after being charged with drug and weapons offences.
Bradley Banks, 27, was arrested following a traffic stop in the northern suburbs.
Police searched a blue Holden Commodore sedan after it was stopped by police at Para Hills about 12.30pm on Thursday.
Police allege a firearm, $8000 cash and about 10 grams of methamphetamine was found in the car.
Mr Banks, from Para Hills, was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, possessing a firearm without a licence and breach of bail.
He was initially refused police bail and yesterday appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court where his application for bail was refused.
Under current legislation a person allegedly caught with drugs and a firearm is categorised as a serious and organised crime offender and the normal presumption in favour of bail is displaced.
This is not Mr Banks’ first time before the court on allegations of being part of a motorcycle gang.
In 2021, Mr Banks was charged with being present with other members of a criminal organisation.
The arrest is the latest in a series of stings targeting OMCG groups in SA.
The Hells Angels and the Comanchero have primarily been targeted as tensions between the two groups escalate.
