A man has been charged with a raft of offences after a mid morning police chase through the northern suburbs on Thursday.
Just after 10am, SA Police spotted a black Nissan ute with unassigned registration plates on Main North Road in Salisbury Heights.
When they attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver continued onto Park Tce in Salisbury before travelling through backstreets and eventually crashing into another a silver Mazda sedan at the intersection of Saints and Main North Roads.
Police said the driver then attempted to run from the vehicle but was “swiftly apprehended by patrols.”
The 35-year-old Elizabeth Park man has been charged with dangerous driving to escape a police pursuit, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving disqualified, unregistered, uninsured and with unassigned plates.
He is expected to face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at the earliest opportunity, most likely on Friday.
Police said investigations are continuing.
The 19-year-old female driver of the Mazda and the 25-year-old passenger in the Nissan were not injured, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
