One of the men allegedly caught drug dealing in the city was asking for lawyer recommendations on Facebook days before his first court appearance.

Dekklyn Curtis Vorakoumane, 20, appeared self represented in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, alongside his co-accused, Dylan Michael Leyland, 19.

Police approached the men, who had allegedly been acting suspiciously in Rosina Street, Adelaide about 3am on March 22.

Mr Leyland, of Craigmore, was arrested and also allegedly found in possession of white powder and MDMA pills.

A charge sheet sighted by the Advertiser alleges Mr Leyland is charged with two counts of drug trafficking, while Mr Vorakoumane is charged with one count.

Counsel, for Mr Leyland, asked the court to vary his bail to remove his curfew.

The court heard Mr Leyland was an apprentice at the time of the alleged offending but his job was terminated after his employment became aware and he was now working night shifts on a ferry.

Magistrate Oliver Koehn varied Mr Leyland’s bail and removed the curfew but banned him from attending the CBD between 10pm and 5am unless for emergency medical treatment.

Mr Vorakoumane told the court he was planning to advise a lawyer and had something in the works after Mr Koehn noted the charge was serious.

In a post on his Facebook page last month, Mr Vorakoumane asked if anyone had lawyer recommendations.

Mr Koehn reminded Mr Vorakoumane to abide by his curfew and that he wasn’t allowed to communicate with Mr Leyland or go into the CBD.

The men’s charges were adjourned until later this year and no pleas have been entered.
