Dylan Kovaskis pleads guilty to manslaughter of Nathan Russell in CBD attack
A man accused of a “vicious, targeted” attack has tried to plead guilty to a lesser charge, but a court has heard prosecutors will not accept the move.

A man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter over a death in a city Housing SA block earlier this year, but prosecutors have rejected the plea.
Nick Vadasz, for murder-accused Dylan John Kovaskis, 25, told the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday they had called his case on early so Kovaskis could plead not guilty to murder but guilty to the manslaughter of Nathan Russell in January
The maximum penalty for manslaughter is life imprisonment.
One of Mr Russell’s friends contacted police after discovering his body in a block of Housing SA units on Sturt St.
Police have not released details of how the 46-year-old Adelaide father died, but prosecutors said he was targeted at his address and “subjected to a vicious attack”.
“I can indicate that the plea of guilty to manslaughter is not accepted by the prosecution,” a prosecutor told the court on Tuesday.
Magistrate John Wells adjourned the matter until November.
