A pregnant woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was allegedly struck by a drunk driver who was moments earlier allegedly involved in two-car crash, according to 7NEWS.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old Paralowie woman, was hit just after 7.30pm on Saturday and taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nearby resident and registered nurse Aida Blockstock raced to the woman’s aid and called triple-0.

“We don’t want to move her just in case there’s a spinal injury,” she told 7NEWS.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Alberta Drive and Bolivar Rd, Burton after two drink drivers, one in a Hyundai sedan and the other in a Holden sedan collided.

The Hyundai then struck and seriously injured the pedestrian who is understood to be pregnant.

The 48-year-old Alberton woman driving the Hyundai returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of .175.

She was arrested and charged with cause harm by dangerous driving and aggravated due care.

The driver of the Holden, a 71-year-old man from Burton, was also breath tested and returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of .117.

He has been reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

There were road closures in place for several hours but the intersection has since reopened to all traffic. Both vehicles were seized by police.

Major Crash attended the scene and their investigation is continuing.

Meanwhile, a man was taken to hospital after he was struck by a vehicle full of thieves who had allegedly just broken into his home.

About 4.30am on Sunday morning, police were called to Frank St, at Marino, after reports of a break-in at a residential property.

The occupant of the home woke to find two men inside his house, stealing his property including car keys and a handbag.

He confronted the suspects and chased them outside where they got into a small red hatchback car.

As the car was leaving the property, it hit the homeowner, causing him minor injuries and smashing the front windscreen of the car.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Patrols in the area located the red hatchback a short time later at the entrance to the quarry off Lonsdale Rd at O’Halloran Hill.

A search of the car located the stolen property which was returned to the owner.

The driver, a 33-year-old man from Morphett Vale, was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft, acts to endanger life and other driving offences.

The front passenger, a 17-year-old boy from Huntfield Heights, was arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and breach of bail.

Both males are expected to be refused police bail and will appear in court on Monday.

The other four juvenile occupants were all arrested for outstanding offences.
