Police have released dramatic footage of three people escaping a stolen car after it hit a stobie pole at Edwardstown on Wednesday.

Police have released dramatic CCTV footage of a stolen car which crashed into a Stobie pole at Edwardstown on Wednesday.

At about 4.35pm police responded to reports of a Peugeot crashing into a Stobie pole, and three people running from the car.
After the collision, smoke can be seen coming from the crashed car before all three occupants run away from the scene.

All three were wearing dark clothing and the front passenger was carrying a white bag.

Checks revealed the hatchback had been stolen from Oaklands Park two days earlier.

The Peugeot sustained substantial damage and was towed from the scene.

Patrols searched the area but no one was found.
