Cynthia Frahn hears victim impact statement after sexually abusing a teenage boy at a party

The married female predator who assaulted a teenage boy at a party before telling him he “wanted it too” has heard in court that he will carry it with him everyday.

The teenage boy who was assaulted by a married female predator at a party has told a court that the abuse still haunts him.

Cynthia Marion Jean Frahn, 53, awaits her fate from custody after she told the boy “he wanted it too” when he confronted her.

A victim impact statement was read to the District Court on Thursday by the prosecutor, with the victim saying he has been plagued with anger, sadness, broken sleep and nightmares since the offending.

“Before the assault I was a typical, happy and excited teenager … since the events everything has changed,” he said.

“I feel like my entire personality has changed, I was kind outgoing and happy but now I feel disconnected from the person I once was.

“I am still in disbelief knowing that the defendant has pleaded not guilty, it feels as though my trauma is so easily dismissed and denied.

“The abuse haunts me, it has left scars and I will carry it with me every day.”

A prosecutor said it was a particularly serious example of the offence, as there was no evidence of any willingness on the victim’s part.

During the trial, prosecutor Christine Hanna told the court the victim was at a party.

“The accused approached (the victim) and told him that he was ‘innocent’ and ‘irresistible’ and that she thought about him while she used her vibrator,” Ms Hanna said.

“She also said that she would f*** him in a heartbeat.”

The court heard the party continued before the victim “blacked out” and woke to Frahn kissing him.

Frahn then pulled down the victim’s pants and began sexually abusing him, while he lay in shock.

The court heard the victim said he needed to get some water before telling his friend what happened.

Frahn’s DNA was found at the scene.

In her closing submissions, Ms Hanna said the victim’s state of drunkenness must have been obvious to Frahn.

“(The victim) said he wished he pushed her off but he was just frozen,” Ms Hanna said.

“As the fellatio continued (the victim) said … ‘this isn’t happening. This isn’t happening’.

“And he also said ‘This isn’t okay … you are married.”

The court heard when the victim confronted Frahn online about the abuse she replied that “he wanted it too”.

Frahn was found guilty by a jury after a trial of indecent assault and unlawful sexual intercourse. She was acquitted of the alternative charge of rape.

On Thursday, Kathryn Waite, for Frahn, told the court her client was a mother of three who had a built a family business with her husband.

Ms Waite urged the court to impose a short jail sentence, saying Frahn had lived an otherwise blameless life and was having a difficult time in custody.

Frahn will be sentenced next month.
