Child exploitation material charge dropped against model, actress Megan Skye Blancada

Model, actress, author and self-confessed sex offender Megan Skye Blancada is no longer charged with possessing illicit images of her teenage victim.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, prosecutors formally withdrew a charge that Blancada knowingly possessed child exploitation material.
That decision has no impact upon Blancada’s imminent sentencing for sexual abuse - for which she is seeking to avoid a prison term.
Blancada, 34, of Salisbury East, has already pleaded guilty to one count of being an adult who had sexually abused a child.
That offence were committed against a male under the age of 16 at various locations between January 2021 and November 2023.
Under state law, that offence carries a maximum sentence of life and cannot be suspended nor served on home detention.
Blancada – whose credits include the films Wolf Creek and Hey Hey It’s Esther Blueburger – has hired two of the state’s top legal minds to argue she should be spared jail.
On Wednesday, Magistrate John Wells dismissed the exploitation charge and cancelled Blancada’s bail conditions.She remains on bail for her other charge, and will face sentencing submissions in the District Court at a later date.
