Suspicious fire guts popular restaurant on Henley Beach Rd

A business has been targeted in a suspected arson attack at Brooklyn Park overnight.

Police and Metropolitan Fire Service crews were called to a block of shops on Henley Beach Rd after reports of a fire about 1am on Monday.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze which started at the rear of one of the shops, but not before one business sustained substantial damage while two neighbouring businesses were smoke-damaged.

Police fire cause investigators attended at the scene and believe the blaze has been deliberately lit.

It comes just a month after a suspicious fire gutted a popular restaurant on Henley Beach Rd.

Fire crews rushed to the Saray Kebab House Restaurant and Cafe about 3.15am on Friday, August 30 to find flames had engulfed the building.

Police are asking anyone who saw any activity in or around the area or who has dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist the investigation into Monday morning’s fire to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
