A specialist breast surgeon originally charged with two indecent filming offences, is now charged with five counts of the offence, court documents reveal.
Ho Keun Shin – who practises as Dr Peter Shin – has appeared in court charged with five counts of engaging in indecent filming of a person over the age of 17 years.
An earlier file alleging two counts of the offence has been withdrawn.
Dr Shin, 45, of Beaumont was originally arrested in August for allegedly filming two separate victims between July 21 and August 4 at Toorak Gardens.
The three new offences allegedly occurred at Toorak Gardens between October 16 and December 4, 2019.
He is yet to enter pleas. During a hearing on Thursday, Dr Shin had his matter adjourned to another pre-trial conference in November.
Dr Shin had been practising at the Breast and Endocrine Centre on Hewitt Ave, Toorak Gardens, but as part of his original bail agreement, was banned from practising or attending his workplace.
His profile has since been removed from the centre’s website.
The website previously revealed Dr Shin had trained in New Zealand as a general surgeon and graduated from the School of Medicine in Auckland.
It said he then went on to train for two years in breast, endocrine and melanoma surgery and had a special interest in breast oncoplastics, which he completed at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
He held positions on the board of the Burnside War Memorial Hospital, and was a visiting specialist at the Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit at the public Flinders Medical Centre.
Dr Shin is next due to appear in court in November.
