Anna Maria Di Pinto pleads not guilty to attempted murder over alleged stabbing, chasing of husband, is ordered to stand trial

A woman who allegedly chased and stabbed her husband, saying “you’ll bleed out soon” and “he needs to die”, has been ordered to stand trial.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Anna Maria Di Pinto pleaded not guilty to one count of attempted murder.
The 60-year-old, who currently resides on bail at Port Elliot, also pleaded not guilty to one aggravated count of causing harm with the intent to do so.
Ms Di Pinto, 60, of Newton, was arrested after, prosecutors alleged, she approached her husband with “a strange look on her face” in October 2024.
They alleged she repeatedly tried to punch and attack him with a knife, cutting his neck and saying “you will bleed out soon”.
They further alleged he threw dining chairs at her as she chased him around their table, then fled out a bathroom.
Ms Di Pinto, they alleged, stood outside the house screaming “he needs to die, he needs to die, he stops me from seeing my family”.
On Wednesday, Magistrate Brian Nitschke remanded Ms Di Pinto on continuing bail to face the Supreme Court in July, when a trial date will be set.Ms Di Pinto left court in the company of a large group of supporters.
