Allegedly drunk driver to face court after driving his Christmas decorated car through Henley Square
An allegedly drunk driver failed to avoid detection when he drove his elaborately decorated Christmas-themed car on to footpaths at a popular seaside spot on Sunday night.

A man will face court after driving his Christmas decorated car through a busy pedestrian-only public space on Sunday night.
A grey Mazda Astina – decked out with Christmas lights and large ornaments – was driven on the footpath and restricted area at Henley Square.
Police arrived about 8.20pm and officers had a conversation with the driver, a 65-year-old man from Croydon Park, who told police he took a wrong turn.

He submitted to a breath test where he provided a positive result of 0.071.
The man was reported for drunk driving and driving in a manner dangerous and his car was defected and impounded for 28 days.
The man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Premier Peter Malinauskas urged people not to drink and drive this festive period.
“It is the silly season and people are allowed to be silly but not completely stupid,” he said.
“So I would advise anyone that it’s just not worth getting behind the wheel of a car if you have had too many, no matter how well decorated your car is because it just puts everybody at risk.
“Everyone wants to be home and safe with their families at Christmas time.”
