The man charged with murdering mother-of-two Louise Hughes has appeared in court for the first time.
Lee Paul Streng, 33, of Park Holme appeared briefly via video link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon.
His lawyer, Stacey Carter, also via video link, made no application for Mr Streng to be released on bail.
A police prosecutor asked the matter be adjourned for seven months to allow for the provision of a preliminary post mortem report.
It comes as distressed friends of Ms Hughes described her as a “lovely person” who was one of a kind.
The prosecutor said a number of other statements were also being gathered.
Magistrate Jayne Basheer adjourned the case to April.
Mr Streng was remanded in custody.
Mr Streng was arrested on Wednesday and charged with murdering Ms Hughes, of Glengowrie.
She was found collapsed and unresponsive in a house on Condada Ave just before 5am on Tuesday.
Attempts to revive her at the scene were unsuccessful.
Mr Streng is the second alleged murderer to face the state’s courts this week, following John Edward Tilly Griffin’s appearance on Monday.
He is alleged to have murdered Gary Robinson, 66, on a rural property on the Eyre Peninsula.
