86-year-old Campbelltown man killed after single vehicle crash in the eastern suburbs

An 86-year-old man has been killed after a vehicle ploughed into a fence in the eastern suburbs last night, making his death the 94th life lost on SA roads.

An eastern suburbs man has died after his vehicle crashed on Sunday night at Felixstow.

Police and emergency services rushed to the intersection of Ashleigh Ave and Payneham Rd about 10.30pm after reports a car had smashed into a fence.

The 86-year-old driver from Campbelltown died at the scene, while his passenger, a 79-year-old Campbelltown escaped injury.

Major Crash officers went to the scene and have concluded the driver may have suffered a medical episode before the crash.

The man’s death is the 94th life lost on South Australian roads this year, compared to 58 at this time last year.
