Truck fire on Eyre Highway results in $400k damages

See the photos as a prime mover went up in flames on the Eyre Highway on Sunday.

A prime mover has caught fire on the Eyre Highway, causing about $400k in damage.

About 2.30pm on Sunday, Country Fire Service crews were called to the fire about 105kms west of Ceduna.

Upon arrival, crews found the truck engulfed in flames, however eight firefighters in four trucks managed to save the second trailer.

The front carriage and first trailer were destroyed.

Farm Fire Units assisted putting out a grass fire that started next to the truck when it went up in flames.

The SA Ambulance Service also attended the blaze.
