Dear Rachelle podcast tops Apple, Spotify charts

The multimedia investigation into the 24-year-old cold case of Rachelle Childs — who was murdered and her remains set alight – has had almost half a million downloads. Listen to the podcast.

The Dear Rachelle multimedia investigation has captivated Aussie audiences, dominating the charts on Apple and Spotify.

The series is a comprehensive investigation into the 2001 cold case of Rachelle Childs, a vibrant 23-year-old from Bargo who was murdered and set alight before her lifeless body was dumped in the bush along a highway near Gerroa – about 100km from where she was last seen alive.

Despite a lengthy police investigation, no one has ever been charged over her death.

Since launching the podcast trailer three weeks ago, the investigation has largely maintained its spot as number one show and number one series on Apple Podcasts. It had a brief stint at number two last week, before bouncing back up to the top.

On Spotify, Dear Rachelle has oscillated between number one and three on the true crime series list.
