MISSING Brunswick man Nick Falos may have been alive for two days after receiving a mystery call from a pay phone.
Detectives believe the call, from a phone in Endeavour Hills, was part of a plan to set up Mr Falos to be murdered in 2003.
It was received by Mr Falos on his mobile phone on March 15.

His torched Porsche was found in the Yarra Ranges two days later
Missing persons squad investigators are making a fresh push to solve the Falos case.
They believe the call may be a clue to learning who killed Mr Falos, 58, who was last seen driving along Albion St, Brunswick, on March 14, 2003.
Detectives say separate information received at the time he disappeared, about cannabis cultivation in the Yarra State Park and Yarra Junction areas, is also significant.
Mr Falos’s body has never been found.
Detectives hope advances in DNA technology might bring them closer to an arrest.
On March 17, Mr Falos’s 1985 Porsche coupe, registered JD 944, was found incinerated in the Yarra State Forest, near Gladysdale.
A neighbour later reported Mr Falos missing.
But police have been unable to find his body in the area where the sports car was discovered.
His other vehicle, a 1975 Holden sedan, was still parked at his home.
Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper said some people had “full knowledge” of what had happened. “It is also our belief that a number of people were potentially involved in Nick’s murder.
“Circumstances change,” he said.
“People may move in different circles, have new friends or partners, and information they may not have felt comfortable providing 15 years ago, they can now speak more freely to police about.”
Det. Insp. Stamper appealed to anyone who saw Mr Falos or the Porsche in the Yarra Junction area on March 15 or 16, 2003, to come forward.
“It doesn’t matter how insignificant you think the piece of information is, it could be exactly what our investigators need to make a breakthrough in the case,” he said.
Mr Falos also went by the name Nikolaos Falieros.
