IT is a murder mystery that has baffled Sydney’s southwest. Nathan Garriock was violently killed at his best mate’s 18th party attended by 100 teens. There were no witnesses. Now 15 years on, his parents are desperate for answers.

Nathan Garriock was savagely killed as he was attending his best mate’s 18th birthday party on June 15, 2003.
EPISODE THREE: THE INQUEST
A fight broke out between partygoers and a group of gatecrashers that sprawled out along Remembrance Drive in South Camden.
One of the gatecrashers jumped into a mate’s car and drove straight into a group fighting in a ditch a few houses away from the party.
Nathan’s body was found lying behind the Holden Commodore. At first it’s thought he died from injuries sustained from the car impact, but forensic evidence comes to light that he survived the impact and was killed when someone hit him over the head with a plank of timber.
His Etnies shoe print was found on the rear passenger-side window.
A plank of timber was found on the floor in front of the passenger seat of the Holden Commodore.
It had indentations consistent with coming into contact with broken glass, such as smashed car window.
DNA testing of the timber plank found on the front seat reveals three blood types.
Blood is found belonging to Nathan, another tests positive for one of the gatecrashers and the third positive reading belongs to one of Nathan’s mates.
Blood is also found on Nathan’s jacket. Multiple areas of blood are from one of the gatecrashers.
Another area is blood from one of Nathan’s mates — the same blood type that is found on the timber.
But this forensic evidence alone is not enough to charge anyone with Nathan’s death.
Even though there were at least 80 revellers at the party, no one says they saw anything.
No one has been charged with Nathan Garriock’s death.
