Three women have been bitten by dingoes at a popular holiday spot in Queensland days before the school holidays start.

Emergency services were called to K’gari (Fraser Island) about 2.30pm on Tuesday after reports three women, aged in their 20s, were bitten by dingoes.

It is not known how many dingoes were involved in the incident, nor where the exact location of the incident occurred.

The women were attacked during a tour of the island, the ABC reports.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman told NewsWire the three women sustained minor lacerations to their legs and underwent treatment at the world heritage area.

“The patients then made their way to the ambulance station around 6pm where they were treated,” they said.

All three women declined further hospitalisation.

The incident comes days before school holidays begin in Queensland, with the tourist hotspot set to be inundated with tourists, including young children.

Parks Queensland urges all visitors, especially small children who may “excite” dingoes, to keep their distance from the native animals at K’gari.

“Children are vulnerable because their size does not intimidate a dingo as much as an adult person,” the Parks Queensland website reads.

“Dingoes move quickly.

“Stay very close to your children (within arm’s reach) and never let them sleep in a tent without adults.”
