Prince Andrew’s ex has been slammed for sharing a “sick” response to Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s death.
Lady Victoria Hervey, 48, shared a link to an article which reported that Ms Roberts Giuffre died by suicide on Thursday.
She added a line to the post: “When lies catch up with you there’s no way out.”
Responses were quick to flood in online, slamming Ms Hervey as “sick” and saying she was “no lady”, The Sun reports.
One wrote: “Wow she’s a cold hearted woman!”
Just two hours after sharing the article and receiving immense backlash, Ms Hervey responded – backtracking from her original post.
She said: “I have taken the decision to pause my posts on the topic of Virginia Giuffre at the this time.
“Irrespective of circumstances, suicide in anyone at anytime is tragic and in a young mother who has children even more.”
This isn’t the first time socialite Ms Hervey has taken aim at Ms Roberts Giuffre online.
Three weeks ago Ms Roberts Giuffre shared a photo on Instagram saying she’d been in a horror crash with a bus and left with kidney failure.
The shocking picture showed the 41-year-old with bruises lying on a hospital bed. In a caption alongside the post, Ms Roberts Giuffre begged to see her children “one last time” and claimed she had “four days to live”.
Ms Hervey labelled Ms Roberts Giuffre, who claimed she was sex trafficked by infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, as “Queen of the fake photo” – in reference to an infamous image of Prince Andrew and Ms Roberts Giuffre in London.
The photo shows the Duke grinning as he grasps Ms Roberts Giuffre by her bare midriff – with Ghislaine Maxwell in the background.
Ms Hervey – who dated the disgraced Duke of York briefly in 1999 – berated Ms Roberts Giuffre in a brutal message after the hospital picture was shared.
She posted an image of herself smiling with the caption: “What is Karma.”
Ms Hervey wrote on Instagram: “If Virginia Giuffre really does have days to live, then a complete confession is needed.”
Ms Hervey was with Prince Andrew in 1999 and defended him against Ms Roberts Giuffre – who accused the Duke of York of sexually abusing her when she was 17.
Her family said the toll of her abuse was “so heavy” it became “unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight”.
They said in a statement on Friday: “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia.
“She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.”
They added: “Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking.
She was the light that lifted so many survivors.
