Few people in Augusta, Margaret River and Manjimup have reported feeling its impact, according to Geoscience.

It comes three days after two smaller earthquakes were felt in Collie while a weak quake was recorded in Lake Muir in the southwestern region of WA nearly one week ago.

Meanwhile, the Upper Hunter Valley in NSW also experienced an earthquake on Tuesday.

The region recorded a 4.1 magnitude quake near Denman.
