WEST Adelaide captain Tom Keough claims the Bloods must erase lapses in concentration if they are to snap the winless start to the season against Woodville-West Torrens at Richmond Oval on Friday.
The Bloods are still searching for their first victory this season after three rounds and the brilliant defender said consistency was still developing.
“Our ability to stay focused for four quarters has been an issue,” Keough said. “Small lapses are costing us.
“Starting with three losses is not perfect, but we know were we are at. Training has been going well, the skills and intensity have been good.
“We need to convert that into game day. We have come a long way with our training standards and how we go about it.
“The results have not been there, but we trust what we are doing.”
The Eagles have just one win this season after being hit hard by injuries.
They will regain some firepower with Jimmy Toumpas making his first appearance for the club since being delisted by Port Adelaide last year.
James Lonergan was also named in a 23-man squad, along with Joe Sinor, Patrick Giuffreda and Jake Johansen, who found some form in the reserves last week.
Jordan West has been brought into the extended squad after ruckman Jarrad Redden was ruled out because of a heel injury.
“The Eagles are a good team who have been a little inconsistent themselves,” Keough said. “They are a quality side with quality players and we expect them to come out firing after losing to Adelaide last week.”
Sturt has also been struck by injury concerns with key big man Tom Read forced to miss the challenge against Glenelg at the Bay on Friday due to a minor calf problem.
Read felt his calf cramping in the final quarter of the loss to Norwood at The Parade last week.
Defender Rune Gilfoy is also sidelined after damaging his shoulder in match simulation exercises at training on Monday.
The Tigers will be without gun attacking weapon Josh Scott while he recovers from surgery on his broken arm, but classy midfielders Luke Partington and Matthew Snook return.
Central District will unveil the third Neagle brother when Matthew makes his league debut for the club against North Adelaide at Prospect Oval on Friday. Matthew broke his arm playing for Albury in August and has had two reserves games for the Bulldogs.
Older brother Jydon and younger brother Jaxon have played all three rounds, although Jaxon will miss the Roosters clash due to a shoulder injury.
Injury and suspension has forced North Adelaide to make five changes with Alex Barns (concussion), Mitch Clisby (hamstring), Frazer Driscoll (ankle), Jake Neade (knee) and Lewis Hender (suspended) making way for Strato Agorastos, Jared Deep, Ben Jarman and premiership pair Mackenzie Slee and Tanner Smith.
South Adelaide takes on Adelaide at Noarlunga on Saturday and has brought Jesse McKinnon and Darnell Tucker into the squad to replace on-baller Nic Schwarz who injured a wrist in the draw against Glenelg.
