Who were the top performers at Cricket Australia’s Under-19 female National Cricket Championships staged in Brisbane this week?
All of the very best knocks, bowling and team efforts are recognised below as we shine a light on the future of women’s cricket in Australia.

ROUND 5
NSW METRO 9-246 def QLD 10-165
Lucy Finn (NSW)
Finn scored a blistering 73* against a quality Queensland bowling line-up, hitting six fours and four sixes, taking her team’s score to 246 and eventually winning the match with one wicket next to her name.
Lilli Hamilton (QLD)
Hamilton ripped NSW’s batting order apart with her fantastic performance with the ball.
She snared five wickets and leaked only 25 runs in her 10-over-quota.
ACT 5-168 def SA 10-167
Amber Smith (ACT)
Smith controlled the innings with her wicket-taking ability at regular intervals and ended with the figures of 10-0-31-4 which left the SA batting line-up in tatters.
Nicole Hobbs (SA)
Hobbs nearly won the match for her team with a magnificent bowling effort, taking four but with a shortage of runs on the board.
She took the first three wickets for her team and could not have bowled better.
Stella Wilde (39*) was a game-breaker for the ACT.
NSW COUNTRY 10-213 def WA 10-177
Samira Mitchell (NSW) and Kate McTaggart (NSW)
The batting duo scored excellent half-centuries and stitched a 60-run partnership to take their team over the 200-run mark.
Tara French (NSW)
French took her first four-wicket-haul of the tournament, tearing the Western Australian team to shreds to help win the match by 36 runs.
VIC METRO 9-229 def TAS 10-220
Sarnsiree Plant (VIC)
Plant hit her first half-century of the tournament, playing a stabilising innings for her team to help them reach a wonderful score of 229.
Amy Smith (TAS)
Smith scored an outrageous 135* which featured 18 fours and two huge sixes.
All this from an opening batter.
She almost took her team over the line, but Tasmania felt short by just nine runs
VIC Country vs. PNG U23
Victoria Country player Ribhya Syan had a blast with the ball as she got PNG U23 all-out for just 81 with a fantastic fifer.

ACT 3-124 def VIC METRO 6-113 via DLS
Alana Horsfall (ACT)
Horsfall was the highest scorer in the match but fell short of a half-century after a valiant innings of 48.
WA 5-132 def TASMANIA 5-105
Morgan Pires (WA)
Pires showed her power game by adding 44* off 31.
She was economical with the ball also.
QLD 2-43 def PNG U23 10-42
Naiya Varidel (QLD)
Varidel rose to the occasion yet again.
She picked up four wickets and had PNG all out for 42.
NSW COUNTRY 4-45 def SA 9-93 via DLS
Keisha Baldwin and Kate McTaggart (NSW)
McTaggart outdid herself with three wickets and 15 runs in the chase.
Baldwin supported McTaggart with a three-wicket haul which reduced the SA team to 9/93 in the first innings.

TASMANIA 6-54 def PNG U23 10-53
Bethany Lane and Shelby Leonard (TAS)
The Tasmanian duo ripped apart Papua New Guinea’s batting line-upto have them all out for 53.
Lane took a five-wicket-haul with all five of her wickets crucial. Leonard complemented Lane with her three wickets in the match.
WA 7-145 def ACT 7-93
Ines McKeon (WA)
McKeon continued her excellent form this tournament picking up a wicket and scoring 45 from 36 balls opening the batting.
McKeon and Morgan Pires (38) were exceptional against the new ball.
QLD 5-115 def Victoria Metro 5-114
Naiya Varidel (QLD)
Varidel came out on top with her unique ability to close out the game in a nailbiting finish.
Her 26 runs at the end was everything for Queensland and she also snared a wicket in a heroic showing.
Samara Dulvin and Lucy Page (Vic Metro)
Dulvin scored 47 at run-a-ball pace as did Page for her 34*.
The pair of them had the Queensland bowlers looking for answers.
Luckily Queensland had Tarah Staines (29), Sianna Ginge (21) and Varidel (26*) to seal the deal.
VIC COUNTRY 5-120 def NSW COUNTRY 10-90
Hasrat Gill (VIC)
Gill had an absolute stunner of a day, scoring a supporting 38, helping the team reach 120 and picking up two wickets.
Her efforts earned a clinical victory.
NSW METRO 4-100 def SA 10-98
Lucy Wilson and Julliette Morton
Wilson and Morton restricted the South Australian line-up to 98 runs, picking up three wickets each.
Kate Pelle (27), Ella Briscoe (25) and Lauren Kua (30*) took care of business with the bat.
ROUND 2
NSW METRO 6-126 def WA 9-130
Eva Ragg (NSW Metro)
Ragg turned out to be a lone warrior with her 67-run innings, which featured nine fours, guiding her team to a score of 126.
The batting order could not tolerate the Western Australian bowling attack led by Morgan Pires and Shay Manolini who took two wickets each.
Frankie Nicklin (NSW metro)
Nicklin (four wickets) and Lucy Wilson (two wickets) fired through the WA batting line-up but couldn’t keep up with the innings of Ines McKeon.
Ines McKeon (WA)
McKeon opened the batting for Western Australia and scored a gritty 52, helping her team get over the line.
QLD 7-161 def South Australia 7-143
Tarah Staines (QLD)
Staines opened the batting and scored a half-century, helping the team score 161.
Emmerson Filsell (SA)
Filsel kept Queensland in check by taking three crucial wickets and derailing a reasonable batting effort.
Lucy Hamilton (QLD)
Hamilton destroyed the South Australian side with her all-round performance with both bat and ball, scoring a quick 43 off 35 and picking up four wickets.
VIC COUNTRY 4-94 def ACT 6-93
Aanliya Cheeran (VIC)
Victoria’s Cheeran put on an absolute masterclass performance with the ball, stopping ACT at a score of 93, ending on the figures 3-1-8-2.
NSW COUNTRY 0-27 def TAS 10-26
Emily Humphreys (NSW)
Tasmania was stuck in the web set by Humphreys who took a six-wicket haul while leaking just two runs in her four overs.
Sienna Eve (NSW)
After a spin attack by Humphreys, Eve broke the spine of the Tasmanian batting line-up by scalping four crucial wickets to get Tasmania all out for a mere 26 runs.
PNG U23 5-84 def VIC METRO 10-81
Dika Lohia (PNG)
Lohia was the pick of the bowlers with her fifer getting the Victorian team to surrender at a score of 81.
Her bowling heroics won the match for her team.
ROUND 1
Game 1 - NSW METRO 4-142 def ACT 6-106
Contributions from NSW Metro batters Kate Pelle (28 off 21), Ella Briscoe (46 off 44) and Elsa Hunter (41 off 44) led the team to a 140+ score in the first innings.
After the batters, the bowlers tore the ACT batting line-up, with Frankie Nicklin and Sara Chun taking two wickets each, winning the match by 36 runs.
Game 2 - QLD 3-152 def WA 9-88
Stellar innings from batters Taylor Stumer (40), Lucy Hamilton (36no off 28) and Naiya Varidel (30no off 30) helped put up a 152-run score.
After performing with the bat, Hamilton’s three-wicket-haul ripped apart the Western Australia batting line-up to pick up a significant 44-run-victory.
Game 3 - SA 4-143 def TAS 6-85
Tasmania shut down the shutter after Eleanor Larosa’s all-round performance with both bat and ball. Larosa was the player of the match after her 65 off 49 and three wickets.
Game 4 VIC Country 7-124 def Metro 9-81
Batters of Victoria country had a good day in the office, posting 124, and Metro Ira Aery picked up three crucial wickets.
However, Aery’s effort was unsuccessful as Country’s Yashoda Senarathne and Grace Moyle stopped the Metro batting line-up for just 81 runs.
Game 5 - NSW Country 10-72 def PNG U23 4-59
PNG U23 bowler Buruka Vicky used the conditions well and claimed a 5-fer, getting NSW all-out for 72.
NSW pulled up their game with quality bowling and restricted the PNG U23 to a score of 4/59 at the end of 20 overs.
