A TRUCK has brought down the inflatable start/finish line of the Tour Down Under in Gumeracha.
The 102 female riders set off unimpeded for Stage One from Torrens Valley Rd earlier on Thursday morning before a truck carrying hay bales crashed into the inflatable start/finish line.
Fortunately, the inflatable sign wasn’t damaged.
The road remains open as riders complete the two-circuit stage through the Adelaide Hills. They will head east through Birdwood and Mount Pleasant before swinging south past Tungkillo and tackling the Cyanide Climb near Mount Torrens.
Once through Mount Torrens, riders will continue to head south towards Woodside before turning back towards Gumeracha via Lobethal
The sign will be reinflated when organisers close the road as the riders near the finish line which is expected to be about 2.22pm.
