SANFL Life Member Max Hewitt passes away, aged 88

SANFL Life Member and grandfather of tennis star Lleyton Hewitt, Max, has died aged 88.

The grandfather of South Australian tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt and SANFL Life Member Max Hewitt has died aged 88.

Hewitt, who played 137 games for West Adelaide between 1949 and 1960, passed away on November 15.

He is also the father of former SANFL and AFL players Glynn and Darryl Hewitt.

Max was awarded SANFL Player Life Membership at the end of his playing career in 1960, and was awarded a Life Membership at the Bloods the year earlier.

Lleyton is currently in Spain representing Australia with his new-look Davis Cup team.
