Adelaide jumps jockey Rob David will miss a large portion of this year’s season after being suspended at Warrnambool’s during this week’s carnival.
David was given a four-month suspension by Racing Victoria Stewards on Thursday for failing to provide a urine sample on Wednesday.
David, 24, landed his first Oakbank feature on Casiraghi at Easter Saturday and was booked to ride Mannertone in Wednesday’s novice steeplechase.
Stewards ordered a replacement rider after he failed to provide a medical clearance following a fall at Oakbank.
David exited the course on Wednesday without providing a urine sample which resulted in his hefty suspension.
He will be allowed to return to riding trackwork pending a clear sample but cannot ride in races until the start of September.
