JAMIE Kah’s move to Victoria will start as early as Thursday with a big book of five rides at Geelong.

Kah, who is booked to ride in-form South Australian Columbia at Flemington on Saturday for top trainer Will Clarken, is set to have a second crack at establishing herself in Melbourne for the remainder of 2019.

She is also set to ride at jump-outs at Flemington on Friday morning before taking two rides at Cranbourne Friday night, including the

Lloyd Kennewell-trained Invisible Girl and Something Silver for Clinton Macdonald.

The desire to chase that illusive Group 1 win a is a large factor in Kah’s move from Adelaide where she has dominated since bursting on to the race scene in 2013.

“The move has always been on the agenda, she just feels the timing is right,’’ Manager Nick Pinkerton said on RSN this week.

“On the back of three Group 1 placings last year she’s keen to get that maiden Group 1 under her belt, she felt a move to Melbourne would position herself best to make that happen.

“Like any professional athlete Jamie is keen to test herself at the top level,’’ he said.

Aside of Columbia she will also Belwazi and The Mighty Jrod at Flemington on Saturday.

Kah will next week be the first South Australian to take part in the sixth annual NJT20 Cricket Match at Caulfield Park in Melbourne next Tuesday.

NJT20 Cricket raises money for the National Jockeys Trust and everyone who donates during the campaign automatically goes into a draw to win some amazing prizes from fridges to a dining package for four people at Moonee Valley at the William Reid Stakes meeting March.
