Group 1 winning trainer Dan Clarken and partner Oopy McGillvray broke new ground with their first training double at Morphettville on Saturday.
Clarken and McGillvray were successful with Yankee Eyes before Metro Tramp provided their Murray Bridge stable with a race to race double.
Lightly-raced filly Metro Tramp showed plenty of speed to find the lead and left rivals standing round the turn when she opened up a race winning break with Dylan Caboche in the saddle.
Despite getting tired late the three-year-old held off an impressive Chucky who charged home from back in the field debut.
Clarken said Metro Tramp was a gritty horse who had always shown plenty of ability.
“She’s a tough horse, she just been a little immature,’’ Clarken said.
“I was thinking Dylan might have let her roll a little bit too far from home but she pulled out enough late,’’ he said.
Clarken and McGillvray are working a small team at Murray Bridge with Metro Tramp a daughter of Metrofox who won five of 20 races for Clarken.
“We’ve only got the eight in work, we own them all so it’s nice to get a result like this,’’ Clarken added.
Yankee Eyes kick started the big day for the stable also leading throughout but with leading apprentice Kayla Crowther in the saddle.
Yankee Eyes won the battle t find the lead and pulled out enough to hold off the fast finishing Kenyan Wonder.
Meanwhile, Ascendance continued his love affair for the Morphettville Parks track with his fourth win from just fifteen starts since joining the Dion Koch stable.
Formerly with Tony McEvoy, Ascendance has been a brilliant money spinner for connections taking prizemoney just shy of $170,000 since joining Koch’s Strathalbyn stable in June 2017.
“He’s just love the Parks track,’’ Koch said.
“Despite his good record he always goes around a good rice and Stubby (jockey Jason Holder) just get on so well together,’’ he said.,
