BEST BET

Race 3 No.3: SHAMELESS MISS

She’s very fit for this 2400m test and I like the way she just kept coming at the winner over the same trip last start. This is her race to win.

NEXT BEST

Race 2 No.5: DEMOCRACY MANIFEST

He’s building a good reputation and can enhance that on Wednesday with another win for new trainer Chris Waller, who prepared him to a fresh win here three weeks ago.

VALUE BET

Race 6 No.5: PLEADING

It looks like Angela Davies has brought her to town at the right time third-up. She was doing her best work late last start at Newcastle and thrives on wet ground.

QUADDIE

Race 4: 1, 4, 6, 8

Race 5: 4, 7

Race 6: 5, 9, 10, 11

Race 7: 1, 3, 5, 8

TRAINER TO WATCH

Chris Waller could win six of the seven races. I know it sounds near impossible but in six races he has huge chances with the likes of Buillt, Political Debate, Democracy Manifest and Shameless Miss looking hard to beat.

JOCKEY TO WATCH

Brenton Avdulla’s ride on Rangi Toa in the last will be key and he’ll fancy his chances on Buillt and Excelladus earlier in the day.

INSIDE MAIL FOR WARWICK FARM

RACE 1

Political Debate ran on well behind Resonator on debut and that horse came out and won a pretty good two-year-old race last Saturday at Gosford. Going up to 1400m now looks ideal with natural improvement. The drawn is the issue. Titanic Award finished off his trial well and is bred to be effective on wet ground at his home track and has barrier one and Tim Clark has been on him at both barrier trials. Dupont didn’t get the best of luck at Bathurst on debut so don’t worry about a fifth placing in the bush now that he’s in town. Buillt ran sixth of eight on debut but was getting stronger through his 1100m race so 1400m looks ideal.

Bet: Exacta 4, 1

RACE 2

Democracy Manifest has built and impressive record to date and is three weeks between runs off a good win at this track and he gets all the favours from a cushy gate and has to be in the finish. Rebel Shadow couldn’t have been more impressive first-up and beat Barrichello last time in and has a good second-up record to suggest he can challenge Democracy Manifest. Excelladus bolted in here last start to suggest he’s returned a much better horse at his second preparation. He does need to step up but the last start wins suggests it can happen.

Bet: Democracy Manifest to win

RACE 3

Shameless Miss ran second on the Kenso at her first try at 2400m last time and wasn’t weakening on the line so she should be going close here and she handles wet ground. Stablemate Za Ceibas will probably enjoy getting back on a bigger track and he too won’t mind it wet and is only fourth-up so should have improvement in him. Feel The Rush does give away weight to the field but did run four lengths behind Knights Order over the carnival and will welcome the drop in grade here. These three look the ones to beat.

Bet: Shameless Miss to win

RACE 4

Bethencourt has won two of his past three including a Saturday win last start at Randwick but he has to carry 2.5kg extra down in grade. Considering how well he beat them a fortnight ago, a win is still within reach on his preferred ground. Chateaux Park also likes it wet and looks the one at odds here after a last start win at the track and distance. He does need luck in his races which is why he doesn’t win out of turn but he showed last start he’s an each-way chance in a race like this. Sindacato ran into an in-form horse at his Australian debut eight weeks ago and the lugging bit is off and he’s trialled up twice to be ready for a mile. Mach Schnell has impressed so far in Australia and should eat up the mile now.

Bet: Bethencourt to win

RACE 5

Good little race. Mr Magical will use the gate to be right on the speed or even leading while Washington Towers is back to his best distance after failing at 1100m last time and a heavy track would be a concern. Quiet Riot appeared to have every chance last time but is still on the improve this prep and he’s back on his home track now. Sachello is only lightly raced but has already won twice including a win against Coal Crusher who has come out and won its first three runs this time in and Sachello won fresh last time in and looked the part in beating stablemate Subterranean home in a recent barrier trial and it’s raced in very good events in the past.

Bet: Sachello to win

RACE 6

Mirra View used her 2kg weight advantage and race fitness to beat home Bella Rouge last time. They meet again here but Mirra View only has a 0.5kg weight advantage and Bella Rouge will be fitter for the fresh run so the tables could easily be turned but Mirra View is flying. Lisdoonvarna was again underestimated last time and won fresh and will be a good price again today. Pleading is building to a peak performance and it could happen today third-up after she was hitting the line well at Newcastle last time. Fearnought looked beaten here first-up three weeks ago but dug deep to win a photo finish and she should take plenty out of it and James McDonald sticks with her after he also rode Bella Rouge last time.

Bet: Pleading to win

RACE 7

Rangi Toa won well enough at his first Australian run for the Waterhouse/Bott yard after coming to them from New Zealand with a handy record. The horse is only getting better and should be in this for a long way. Finepoint carried 4kg less than it though and she too is building a good record. She was asked to do nothing in both barrier trials but has the strongest Sydney team behind her. Ita is super consistent and has to go into the numbers but she does have a habit of running seconds. Black Queen might a 2400m horse but does run well fresh over trips around the 1400m mark.

Bet: Finepoint to win
