SOUTH Australia’s $13m Everest contender Viddora has ticked all the boxes ahead of her road trip to Sydney on Thursday night.

Viddora had her final gallop at Caulfield on the course proper Tuesday morning and trainer Lloyd Kennewell said he couldn’t fault the mare comparing the work to what she produced before her sizzling first-up win in the Group 1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley.

“I prepped her for the Moir because last year we did the same, and the natural progression from that was that if she did really well, we were hoping to get one of those last (Everest) slots,” Kennewell said.

“Her work Tuesday morning was really, really good. It was ideal preparation work.

“It was nearly a clone of what she did at the Valley the other day before the Moir, and Joey (Bowditch) was really excited by it,” he said.

Viddora drew the outside barrier in gate 12 at Tuesday night’s and Kennewell said he was unfazed despite the wide gate.

“There is nothing we can do about, it’s jut a number at the end of the day,’’ Kennewell told Sky Racing post barrier draw.

“She’s not going to be going forward so I’m quite comfortable with that.

“Importantly I think there is really good speed in the race, I’d rather 12 than (barrier) one,’’ he said.

Damien Flower who owns Viddora’s slot in the race echoed Kennewell’s comments.

“It is what it is,’’ Flower said.

“If you have a look at her racing pattern, at the Gold Coast she wide and when bang and then in the Moir it was the same thing.

“Lloyd was sitting next to me (at the barrier) and he wasn’t worried, there is no use me worrying,’’ he said.

Viddora is currently a $15 in one the most even group 1 fields seen.

Last year’s winner Redzel, 2017 Goodwood winner Vega Magic and Trapeze Artist all share favouritism at $7 ahead of this year’s Sangster Stakes Shoals at $7.50 and stablemate, Group 1 Goodwood winner Santa Ana Lane at $8.
