SOUTH Augusta yesterday scored a historic three-peat, taking out the Spencer Gulf Football League premiership against Solomontown at Port Augusta’s Central Oval.

The Bulldogs triumphed 19.10 (124) to 9.9 (63) in the grand final.

The club entered the grand final with 15 premierships from its 106-year history and it was the first time it had won three in succession.

The Bulldogs’ win was as convincing as their year — the victory secured a rare undefeated season and the pre-game favourites led from start to finish yesterday.

Lionel Brown was the leading goal kicker with five while Thomas Hamilton, Gary Warren and Vince Urbancic kicked three apiece.
