15. Dane Haylett-Petty: A strong return to the Test arena, making a try-saving tackle on Jordie Barrett, solid under the high ball and running strongly in the second half. 6/10

14. Filipo Daugunu: A horrible showing. Nothing went right from the moment he was sin-binned, leading to New Zealand’s first try. As he tried harder things got worse; dropped balls, passes over the sideline. Needs a rest. 3/10

13. Jordan Petaia: Showed his attacking prowess in the second half with linebreaks and solid fends. The biggest worry for New Zealand’s defence. 6/10

12. Irae Simone: Made his voice heard in the defensive line. You could certainly see why Dave Rennie likes his communication skills. But handling errors negated that effect. 5/10

11. Marika Koroibete: Produced the best try-saver in a Bledisloe since George Gregan when he somehow pushed Caleb Clarke into touch. Showed touches of class. 6/10

10. Noah Lolesio: A try on debut, however was overwhelmed by the occasion and his rivals. Miss-kicks, poor kicks, missed tackles and a lack of direction. 4/10

9. Nic White: Busy with his talk, made a couple of big-hearted tackles, particularly on Caleb Clarke, but couldn’t threaten behind a beaten pack. 6/10

8. Harry Wilson: Took the tough hit-ups when others wouldn’t, put his body on the line in defence, but also fell off tackles and lacked his usual punch. 5/10

7. Michael Hooper: Couldn’t win the 50/50 battles he needed to turn the tide. A tough night for the skipper. 4/10

6. Ned Hanigan: Not as notable as his last outing. Another who gave his all yet found himself going backwards in mauls or just off the pace in defence. 4/10

5. Matt Philip: Needed to position himself better in the rolling mauls. Some crucial takes in the lineout, however lacked the physical presence of his last match. 4/10

4. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto: Prematurely sidelined with injury. Had made some strong tackles but could not contain the Kiwis’ rolling maul. 4/10

3. Allan Alaalatoa: Competed in the scrums but could not impose himself on the match in the face of a black tidal wave. 4/10

2. Brandon Paenga-Amosa: Aside from one miss, his lineout throwing stood up to the test again. But found it tough going in tight. 5/10

1. James Slipper: Another good scrimmaging performance. Was enthusiastic in defence but couldn’t sustain the force amid the Kiwi barrage. 5/10

Reserves:

16. Jordan Uelese: One misthrow on the lineout, nailed another, too much to do too late. 5/10

17. Scott Sio: Caught out in defence for Jordie Barrett’s try at the end, tried hard to work his way back into the contest. 4/10

18. Taniela Tupou: A couple of big runs, a couple of defensive errors. 4/10

19. Rob Simmons: Some sturdy lineout work, but otherwise couldn’t make the impact he needed after an early introduction. 4/10

20. Fraser McReight: Enthusiastic debut, energetic runs late in the game. 5/10

21. Tate McDermott: A busy introduction to the Test arena, showed he’s not overawed by the pace. Needs another look. 5/10

22. Reece Hodge: Hardly the ideal scenario for a bench player. Came on trying to limit damage rather than turn the tide. May be option on the wing next game. 5/10

23. Hunter Paisami: An abundance of dedication. Threw himself into contact with and without the ball. 5/10
