Welsh stars celebrate with an unexpected kiss after downing Wallabies

The Welsh were pretty excited about knocking off the Wallabies at the World Cup and among the giant grins was a rather toothy smooch.

Welsh captain Alun Wyn Jones had himself quite the day in his country’s historic 29-25 win against the Wallabies in the World Cup, tallying a monstrous 25 tackles and one passionate kiss.

Asked if he expected to celebrate the win by planting one on teammate George North, the skipper replied: “Well, I think his wife’s safe, put it that way. Obviously you’re excited at the end and you share those moments with players. Not always like that but it is what it is. I’m sure there’ll be some memes made out of it.”

The big lock has become the most capped Wales player, with 130 appearances. He should also break the overall test record for a Six Nations player, held by Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll, during the tournament.

We’re yet to see any great memes but it made for easy headlines in the newspapers.

It’s still only runner-up for the most awkward sports smooch of 2019 given we saw this from AFL duo Jeremy Finlayson and Darcy Gardiner just a couple of weeks ago.
