REDS stars James Horwill and Will Genia will miss Queensland's Super Rugby clash with the Waratahs this weekend through injury.
Skipper Horwill (calf) and Genia (knee and hand) returned from Wallabies' duty carrying injuries.
They have been ruled out of Saturday night's clash at ANZ Stadium in order to recover for the first round of the Super Rugby finals the following weekend.
The Reds have already had their top six play-offs spot confirmed, while the eighth-placed Waratahs are out of the running heading into the final week of the season.
"I feel good, obviously it'd be better not to have a calf injury, but I was hoping to play this week," Horwill said.
"Playing against NSW for Queensland, it's a big deal.
"It's disappointing but the plan is to be right next week to take on whoever we face in the finals."
