WARATAHS and Wallabies lock Kane Douglas has admitted he will consider overseas offers for next year.
Off contract at the end of the season, the 202cm Douglas will likely be a player in demand given his performances for the national team and the Tahs in recent years.
But the lure of the 2015 World Cup, and the feeling of a revolution at the Waratahs, will be difficult to walk away fro, Douglas added.
“I’m off contract so I’m seeing what’s out there, but I’m pretty happy where I am,” Douglas said.
Meanwhile, Douglas said the Brumbies showed the Waratahs what level they need to reach to be Super Rugby contenders.
While the Tahs were hot favourites heading into last weekend’s grudge match, last year’s grand finalists dominated the scrums and lineouts to win the match and go top of the Australian conference.
NSW must now turn that around in short time, given they play Melbourne on Friday night.
“We’ll do a bit of work on our set piece we need to try to win a few more balls on the lineout and try to make it clean balls, we were probably a bit off on our scrum and lineout,” Douglas said.
“The Brumbies were very hard at the ball, it showed us what level we need to be at.”
The Waratahs trained in their Shute Shield colours on Monday in promotion of the club competition, which kicks off on Saturday week.
NSW’s South African import, Jacques Potgieter, confirmed he will join Eastern Suburbs.
