NRL news: Police drop investigation into Cody Walker

South Sydney star Cody Walker has no case to answer after police dropped their investigation into an incident described by the Rabbitohs star’s adviser as “a bit of fun”.

Police have dropped investigations into South Sydney star Cody Walker following an incident on the Central Coast.

However the NRL’s integrity unit are still examining what occurred.

Walker was skylarking with family members after celebrations for his 150th game in first grade following South Sydney’s clash against Manly on April 29.

He celebrated the occasion with family and friends.

However those celebrations were soured when news broke of the police investigation on Friday.

Police had confirmed they were investigating reports of ‘males fighting’ on Pine Tree Avenue. Their investigations have concluded without any punishment for Walker.

Despite being cleared by police, the NRL were yet to determine if Walker faces any sanction from the game’s governing body for the incident.

Walker has earned the ire of the integrity unit in the past. He was banned for two matches in 2020 after he was filmed kicking a man in the chest in a street fight in the NSW town of Casino in late-2019.

Walker has had an indifferent start to the year on the field as the Rabbitohs struggle to find any rhythm this year.

They were surprise losers on Thursday after the Adam Reynolds-led Broncos defeated them 32-12.
