Mike Harris picked as centre beside Quade Cooper for Reds-Chiefs trial

MIKE Harris has been handed the first chance to nail a partnership with Reds playmaker Quade Cooper in Saturday's Super Rugby trial against the Chiefs in Toowoomba.
The backline utility is among several candidates vying to play inside centre for the Reds after spending much of his time at fullback or n the bench in recent seasons.
Coach Richard Graham named a full strength side for the first trial of the season, with Test lock James Horwill to captain a side containing Wallabies halves Cooper and Will Genia.
"After four months of pre-season, it's good to finally arrive at this point," Graham said.
"It's pleasing to see all of our players fit and keen to play the Chiefs this weekend."
With just two trials to play before the season opener against the Brumbies in Canberra on February 22, the Toowoomba outing will play a major role in determining several hot spots.
The front row and centre combinations are just two areas of contention for last year's finalists.
Fullback and wing selections are also wide open.
1. Ben Daley, 2. Saia Fainga'a, 3. James Slipper, 4. Rob Simmons,
5. James Horwill (C), 6. Eddie Quirk, 7. Liam Gill, 8. Jake Schatz, 9. Will Genia (VC), 10. Quade Cooper, 11. Lachie Turner, 12. Mike Harris, 13. Ben Tapuai, 14. Dom Shipperley, 15. Aidan Toua.
