HE has labelled him as a world-class talent but Queensland Reds coach Richard Graham is yet to decide where James O’Connor fits into his plans.
O’Connor wasn’t fit enough to make the Reds line-up for Friday’s Super Rugby opener against the Brumbies in Canberra.
The former Wallaby has been cleared to play in Saturday’s home clash with the Western Force and is almost certain to start after the Reds were humbled 47-3.
Karmichael Hunt, making his Super Rugby debut, barely had a chance to show what he can do at five-eighth.
Graham said Hunt’s display at No. 10 in a pre-season clash against the Crusaders was still fresh in his memory as he works out where to fit O’Connor into his team.
“Karmichael was up against it there the other night, we gave him no front-foot ball whatsoever,” Graham said.
“It was a difficult night for him all round.
“Certainly now it gives you some options from which to make a decision there.”
