KARMICHAEL Who? Another week has ticked by without any update on just where the stalled rugby career of Wallaby Karmichael Hunt is heading.

Actually, there has been some movement with Rugby Australia finally in possession of the police file covering his arrest on December 30 in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

It’s believed Hunt gave the go-ahead for the file to finally reach the ruling body which means Gerard McEvilly, the Integrity Unit’s new chief.

If there is substance for a code-of-conduct hearing for bringing the game into disrepute expect it to be announced shortly.

It is three weeks since Hunt had a charge of cocaine possession dropped in court because of lack of evidence although rugby’s threshold for dodgy events can be lower.

OVERSEAS: Hunt linked to European clubs

There is plenty more to play out here because a guilty plea for possessing a prescription drug, Zanax, doesn’t reach any threshold for being exiled.

Consider this; Hunt was banned for five games in 2015 after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

He has already missed the opening five games of this Super Rugby season if you factor in his non-selection for the Queensland squad which flew out for a two-game tour.

Even if Rugby Australia now finds him guilty of giving the code a black eye and deal out a ban, he may well have served it already.

Returning to the Reds or heading overseas are the two balls being juggled.

For now, the Reds are operating just fine with Aidan Toua at fullback after he finished off the matchwinning 60m try against the Bulls last Saturday night.
