Brumbies confident Christian Lealiifano will handle goalkicking pressure against Bulls in Pretoria

VISITING teams have kicked less than six goals from every 10 attempts in Pretoria this year but the Brumbies have every faith in Christian Lealiifano.

VISITING teams have kicked less than six goals from every 10 attempts at Loftus Versfeld in 2013.

Bulls sharpshooter Morne Steyn is nailing almost nine.

Yet Brumbies coach Jake White insists there's no additional burden on goalkicker Christian Lealiifano to perform during his semi-final shootout with Super Rugby's top points-scorer.

"Morne obviously kicks better at his home ground, but that doesn't mean the pressure is then on Christian," White said.

"It's not just a big game for (Lealiifano), it's a big game for everybody."

Lealiifano is no slouch in front of the posts.

Currently the competition's second-highest points-scorer (195), the Brumbies' inside centre boasts a respectable season accuracy rate of 76.4 per cent.

That number rises to a whopping 87.5 per cent if you only count penalties.

Yet Lealiifano isn't without his erratic moments.

He temporarily lost his range against the Cheetahs on Sunday with two missed penalties he'd normally split between the uprights.

UNCHANGED BRUMBIES TO PUSH LIMITS

He recovered just in time to help post a slim two-point victory.

Yet with the Brumbies being kept tryless in their last two games, and Pretoria's high altitude enabling longer kicks, Lealiifano can bank on the fact he'll have a few important moments come Sunday morning (AEST).

Fortunately, it's the big moments the 25-year-old thrives on.

The Tongan product announced himself as a Wallaby last month when he converted a late try out wide to sink the British and Irish Lions in the second Test.

However it's his last game against the Bulls in Canberra that will give him the most confidence.

Lealiifano outkicked Steyn in that game in late March, the inside centre nailing a last-gasp penalty after the siren to deliver the Brumbies a three-point win.
