THE Blues have made light of a blunder on replica jerseys that indicates their clash with the British and Irish Lions in June will be played in Mt Eden Prison.
The limited edition jerseys, released by New Zealand Rugby kit manufacturer adidas ahead of the June-July tour, have sleeves displaying “battleground coordinates” which should line up with the venues of the Lions’ tour opponents.
Though the coordinates are wrong for all five provincial teams due to face the Lions, in the Blues case they miss their Eden Park home and instead point to nearby Mt Eden Prison.
The Blues tried to laugh off the error by tweeting a photo of the prison with the message “Defend Your Territory.”

Unfortunately, the Blues’ defence has been one of their biggest problems of late.
The team have lost three out of their four Super Rugby matches this season.
“We were advised by adidas of the error with the coordinates on the jersey, and while less than ideal, it will not impact the occasion,” a Blues spokesman told the New Zealand Herald.
“Currently the Blues are fully focused on the Super Rugby competition.”
