Revealed: Local NSW/ACT Aussie rules top goalscorers of 2025 so far

With local Aussie rules seasons heading towards the finals, the race is on in the goal kicking ranks. Check out who sits atop the leaderboard for the top goalscorers in NSW and ACT.

Aussie rules seasons across NSW and the ACT are well underway with hauls of goals dropping left, right and centre.

From the city to the country, forwards are starting to rack up impressive numbers for the season.

Here are the top 15 goalscorers across NSW/ACT as of July 30.

1. BUSTER WARE (BATEMANS BAY, CANB DIV 1, 76 GOALS)

Cracking first name and having an even better season. Buster Ware has been a model of consistency for the Seahawks this season. Four against Woden and five against Ainslie has him on track for 100 this season.

2. ANDREW SWAN (EWK HAWKS, FARRER, 71 GOALS)

A blistering start to the season from Swan saw him kick 29 goals in his first five games. Slowed down a touch, but has re-found his best with five against Temora and then a booming 10-goal blitz against TRYC.

3. MITCH STEVENS (PENRITH, SYD DIV 2, 65 GOALS)

After going scoreless in the opening round against Manly, Stevens has been electric in front of goal. Stevens has been on a tear of late, kicking 10 against North Shore to make it 21 goals in his last three outings.

4. SIENNA SMITH (SOUTHERN POWER, SYD DIV 2, 61 GOALS)

Is relishing a more forward role this year to surge clear in Sydney women’s division two. Improved her tally to 61 after booting three against Manly Warringah.

5. MURRAY STEPHENSON (WAGGA TIGERS, RIVERINA, 60 GOALS)

Stephenson has been on fire in the Riverina this season, with a best run of 21 goals in three games. Has just five from his last three as others close the gap in the Riverina.

6. MARTY BOYER (COLLINGULLIE WAGGA, RIVERINA, 59 GOALS)

Getting hot at the right time of the season. Kicked 10 goals against Leeton Whitton and the Collingullie Wagga sharpshooter now has 33 goals in his past five outings after four against Wagga.

7. GEORGE ALEXANDER (OSBORNE, HUME, 56 GOALS)

Has been in incredible form over the last month or so, booting 10 against Murray and backing it up with 20 in his next three outings. Hasn’t played since 5 July.

JOCK CORNELL (TEMORA, FARRER, 56 GOALS)

Has a season best of 10 goals and has been finding his best over the last couple of weeks with four against EWK and four against Coleambally.

9. NICHOLAS BUCHANAN (COOLAMON, RIVERINA, 54 GOALS)

Consistency has been a strong point of Buchanan’s season with Coolamon. The weekend against Wagga was the first time he’s kicked below three majors this year, coming after five against Leeton Whitton.

10. CHARLIE KELSALL (TEMORA, FARRER, 52 GOALS)

After a one-off stint with Quaker Oats, has returned to Temora with a bang, booting 31 in his last seven games. Had four on the weekend against Coleambally.

RYAN BEVERIDGE (CDHBU, HUME, 52 GOALS)

After a slow period with three in two games, Beveridge is slowly getting back to his best with two against Culcairn and three against Billabong to keep him in the mix for top prize in Hume.

12. TROY LUFF (UNSW-ES, SYDNEY DIV 5, 51 GOALS)

The 600-game legend and former Sydney Swan is enjoying a stellar season for the Bulldogs in front of goal, cracking the half century mark in style when kicking 10 goals against Balmain.

DYLAN JORDAN (MERIMBULA, SAPPHIRE COAST, 51 GOALS)

It will be hard work to catch up to a previoius tally of 68, but Dylan Jordan is well on the way. Kicked four in back-to-back games against Narooma and Brermagui to keep him top of t the Sapphire Coast.

14. SAM FENSOM (HILLSTON, NORTHERN RIVERINA, 49 GOALS)

Been in very solid form and is fast approaching the half century after he scored six against West Wyalong Girral and three when taking on Tullibigeal.

15. HUGO BIRKS (UNSW-ES, SYD PREMIER, 48 GOALS)

Has played five less games than second place in the Sydney Premier Men but still leads by five. Has only been seen once since May after earning a call-up to the Giants in the VFL.

*All stats correct up to 30 July. Players who have played across multiple divisions were only counted for their predominant league.
